Questions

What time should we arrive?Please plan to arrive at Island Heights Yacht club located at 65 River Ave in Island Heights, NJ 10-15 minutes before your departure to allow for proper boarding & safety briefing. (Parking spots open to the public on either side of River Ave. Our Captain will meet you at the boat and assist with boarding.)

Boarding and departing the vessel (Boat)Please do not board or depart the boat until the captain has instructed you to do so and with his professional assistance & guidance or help from our 1st mate.

What is provided on board?Each cruise comes with a handsome and knowledgeable captain, a Bluetooth sound system, a cooler with ice and bottled water, sunscreen, and blankets.

Can we bring alcohol and food?Yes! We are BYOB so please bring whatever food or beverages you'd like! (We list cooperating partners on our site where you may pick up a coffee, drinks, beer, liquor, snacks or fully prepared meals for your cruise.)

How many people can we bring?The US Coast Guard sets the boat capacity; therefore, we will not be able to depart with more than 6 passengers. We also provide a captain and a first mate that do not count towards the total of 6.

What do we need to bring?We provide all that we can to make your trip as smooth, enjoyable, and memorable as possible. However, we recommend packing few things to make your experience even better: Warm clothes such as a sweater or jacket in case it gets a bit chilly Snacks and any beverages you would like to enjoy onboard BYOB (NO RED WINE) Any meals or food you would like to enjoy onboard No glass drinking glasses or dishware (Plastic drinking glasses and dinnerware provided) Sunscreen Comfortable sneakers or boat shoes (safety first, no high heels)

What is the cancellation policy?You can cancel your booking, for a full refund up to 7 days before your scheduled departure time. If cancellation occurs between 7 days and 3 days before your scheduled departure time, you are responsible for 50% of the booking cost. The full price of the charter will be charged if a cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the scheduled departure time. All sales booked within 48 hours of the scheduled departure time are non-transferable and non-refundable. Customers receive a full refund if a cancellation occurs due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of our charter?Weather needs to be safe for all cruises, and we also want you to have the best experience with us. Summer & Fall weather can be tricky at times, so you will receive a full refund if there is a weather-related cancellation. It is the Captain's call on the day of the charter.

How long is the trip?Each cruise varies in time! Our most popular cruise is 2 hours long, but we also have a 3 hour cruise along with half-day and full-day cruises. Our half-day cruise is 4 hours, and the full-day cruise is 8 hours. We also charter special events that you can customize to your liking. Ie: July 4th Fireworks, Photoshoots, Weddings, birthday celebrations and life events.

Do you have a bathroom?We have a comfortable size head (bathroom or toilet) on board, but we recommend using the restroom before your cruise.

Are life preservers provided?We have one life preserver per adult guest, life preservers for children must be supplied by the parents or guardians. All safety equipment is kept aboard including USCG approved first aid kit.(There will be an onboard safety briefing before departure for all cruises.)

As a USCG certified captain do you conduct marriage ceremonies?Not at this time but am working towards having this available in the future.

Do you perform “Burial at Sea” services?Please contact Slack Time Charters directly to discuss burial at sea options and scheduling. New Jersey state law requires a 3 mile minimum distance from shore for all burial at sea services. This requires a full day charter rate for either Manasquan or Barnegat inlet and is weather dependent.
